A 4 hour, intimate workshop where you’ll carve your own ring, exploring the ancient, tactile lost wax process of jewellery making.
Total cost is R2450 (you pay 50% now to reserve your spot).
There’s something deeply satisfying about shaping a piece with your hands. Slowly refining it, carving into it and watching it take form.
In this workshop, you’ll be guided through every step of the process of carving your own ring in jeweller’s wax.
You’ll learn how to:
- size and shape your ring
- carve and refine the form to honour your design
- add texture and detail
Once you've completed your creation, your ring will be professionally cast into the metal of your choosing, finished by me and ready to wear. Each piece is completely unique, a reflection of your own hand and creative process. And there’s nothing quite like putting on a piece of jewellery YOU made - it's magic!

- 4 hours of guidance through the process
- Casting in your choice of metal: silver, brass or bronze (up to 8g)
- Finishing and polishing

I make jewellery, art, and run workshops because I believe we should not lose touch with how to make things with our hands, how to sit with raw materials that hold actual weight, forging them into a version of our own truth, with hints of our own soul and story. I also believe that every person on this planet is creative in some way. I’m here to help you connect with your creativity and craftsmanship.

The whole experience of Ember Studios ring carving workshop was awesome. Emma is an amazing teacher, patient and super attentive.
Coming in with no experience at all, I felt somewhat intimidated to start, but the vibe was so relaxed and captivating that I very shortly found myself completely immersed.
The idea of creating something with your own hands, that will last a life time and that you can carry with you always, is in incredible - the ring I made has some deep sentimental meaning to me. From design advice to hands-on guidance, Emma made it possible!

Your guidance on how to make the piece pop was also really appreciated!
Emma's workshop was truly relaxing, interesting and absorbing. It takes one into another universe of concentration. I loved the atmosphere she created with background music. The Venue too was great. It's definitely something l would enjoy again. Brilliant job Emma. Thank you!
Finally got to join a ring workshop with Emma which I had been looking forward to for so long! I am such a fan of her jewellery brand: Ember and it was amazing to be taught how to make my own ring in my own style but with the guidance and professionalism of Emma's attention to detail, design advice and her knowledge of the lost-wax casting method. I feel like I learnt a lot and had so much fun in the studio with everyone. I am so happy with my ring and I can't wait to make another one.
Easy-going work shop, wholesome and creative. So excited to see my rings and hopefully attend another one with Emma soon.
What a great, peaceful activity to channel your inner creativity conducted by a talented and encouraging instructor.
I LOVE my ring!!! SOOOO stoked with how it came out! Thanks for helping me with it! Yay!
Emma is such a great teacher! It was my first time doing something like this and was amazed by the process and how simply she broke it down. Stoked with my wax model and can't wait for the final product!
I actually couldn't believe that I created what I set out to create but with Emma's completely calm support, I pushed on through and can't wait to see the final product. The takeaway for me was double - I learned a new creative process that I'm keen to explore further and have even more respect for the incredible pieces that Emma crafts for her Ember Studio collection.
I loved this workshop so much!!! I am not naturally a very creative person, so this type of guided process is exactly the kind of thing I like. Emma was great at checking in on everyone in the room and giving helpful tips, while also being super encouraging and affirming. It definitely made me appreciate how much effort goes into handmade jewellery! I would definitely do this again.
I am so glad I attended Emma ring making morning. I love love my final product especially as I know I made it ??. It was a fun morning and great to tap into my creative side.
